Turn saved restaurant links into places you actually visit
A café in a chat, a restaurant link and a museum recommendation are easy to lose. A places list keeps the name, address and reason for going together, so you can choose a plan without searching through old messages.
Create a places list with a clear purpose
Choose Places when creating your list. Start with a manageable theme such as ‘Weekend cafés’, ‘Restaurants to try’ or ‘Museums for rainy days’. A list for one area is easier to use than a collection of every place you have ever heard about. List type is fixed after creation, so choose a wishlist instead if you want to organise gifts.
Save enough information to find the right place
Add the name, address, map link and a short note about why you saved it. If a friend recommended a particular dish or the place seems useful for a group, put that context in the description. Check that the address belongs to the right branch. Before going, confirm opening hours, accessibility and booking requirements with the venue.
Share a shortlist instead of another stream of links
Invite the people making the plan so they can join the list. Keep two or three options that fit the day, location and budget. Collaborators with editing access can add their own suggestions. Keeping the links and notes beside each place makes the decision easier when the original chat is weeks old.
Keep places separate from gift reservations
Place lists are for saving and organising locations. They do not have gift reservations, and saving a restaurant in Listry does not book a table. Use the venue’s website or contact details to make a reservation. After a visit, update your notes while the experience is fresh so the list stays useful next time.
Publish recommendations only when you want to
You can keep a places list private and invite only the people you choose. Publishing it makes its contents and your public display name readable in Discover. A public list works best when it explains its theme and gives useful context for each place. Never publish a home address, someone else’s private details or plans you want to keep within your group.
